Our Amsterdam Experience
We reached Amsterdam in the afternoon and, after checking into our hotel and taking a short break to freshen up, we headed out to explore the city centre.
As I stepped into the heart of Amsterdam for the first time, the beautiful bicycles seemed to welcome us, weaving through the lively streets alongside the canals.
Our first stop was Dam Square, followed by a relaxed walk along Amsterdam’s famous canals. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, admired the historic buildings and took plenty of family pictures along the way. It was a lovely way to get our first feel of Amsterdam.
The city’s beautiful architecture, historic buildings and vibrant energy immediately caught our attention. There was such a wonderful vibe all around us — a sense of movement, excitement and life in every corner. And seeing the famous Amsterdam scenes we had seen so many times in pictures finally come alive in front of us felt truly magical.
The next day, we started by exploring the famous houses along Damrak, one of the most recognizable sights in Amsterdam. From there, we continued to the Jordaan neighbourhood, enjoying its charming streets, canals and unique architecture.
Later, we walked through the Nine Streets (De 9 Straatjes), explored the famous Flower Market, and picked up a few souvenirs along the way. Later explored Museum square.
To end our Amsterdam experience, we took an evening canal cruise. Seeing the city, its beautiful canal houses and bridges from the water was one of our favourite experiences of the trip.
Two days in Amsterdam gave us a wonderful mix of sightseeing, walking, family time and unforgettable canal views.
